Fast Reader ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and process your information when you use the Fast Reader mobile application (the "App").

1. Information Collection and Use

Fast Reader is designed as a strictly offline, on-device utility.

  • No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or share any personal information, such as your name, email address, phone number, device identifiers, or IP address.
  • On-Device Ingestion and Parsing: All text files, .txt, and .docx documents that you import or paste into the App are processed and parsed entirely on your local device.
  • No Server Uploads: Your reading materials and documents are never uploaded, sent, or transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers.

2. Local Storage (Hive Database)

The App uses an offline local database (Hive) on your device to persist:

  • The text contents of documents you have manually imported into the App.
  • Your reading progress metrics (such as the last-read word index for each document).

This data is stored securely within the App's private local directory. You can delete any imported document or reading metrics at any time from within the App library. If you uninstall the App, all locally stored documents and progress will be permanently deleted from your device.

3. Device Permissions

To provide its core speed-reading features, the App may request access to:

  • File System / Storage Access: This permission is used solely to let you browse and select local documents (like .txt or .docx files) to import into the App library. We do not access any other folders, photos, or media assets on your device.

4. Third-Party Services and Analytics

Fast Reader does not include:

  • Third-party advertising networks.
  • Analytics, tracking, or telemetry SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics).
  • Social media integrations or trackers.

5. Children's Privacy

Because the App does not collect any personal data or transmit any information online, it does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from children.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Since the App operates offline and does not collect contact information, any updates to this policy will be published inside the App repository or store listing. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes.
